Dear Neighbor,

I’m running to be your representative for the 48th District in the Wisconsin State Assembly because we need an effective, experienced champion in the legislature.

In an election with many good candidates, you may be visiting my website wondering “Why should I vote for Vicky?" I'll give you a few reasons:

All of us running care about the same issues. I don't just care about the issues, though, I've actually worked on and made a difference on the issues. I have by far the broadest and richest experience on the key issues of any candidate in this race.

I have more than a dozen years experience standing up for Wisconsin’s families and bringing people together to get results. I am a public interest attorney, a workers’ rights advocate, and an anti-poverty public policy expert. I am currently the Chief of Staff to an Assembly Democrat, Cory Mason from Racine. My broad experience and proven track record of effective leadership has earned me the endorsement of the Wisconsin Professional Police Association – the largest statewide police union, as well as AFSCME 1077, and the United Steelworkers District 2.

In this race, I am the education candidate. I am the only candidate to have earned the unprecedented endorsement of every elected member of the Madison school board, Madison Teachers Inc (MTI, the Madison teachers' union) and the TAA - AFT Local #3220 - endorsements that lead the Cap Times to call me a 'Schools Champion'. I've also been endorsed by a Monona Grove School Board member and the President of the Monona Grove Education Association. They’re just the start of long list of education leaders and teachers supporting me in this race.

I am the only candidate who has economic development experience, at both the state and local levels, helping our small, locally-owned businesses survive and thrive, and working on policies that will create family-supporting jobs.

I have a proven track record of highly effective leadership. My background and experiences mean that I will be able to hit the ground running in the Capitol at a time when we need strong leadership more than ever. That’s why I have more endorsements from local elected leaders - your neighbors who live in and represent our communities- than any other candidate.

It's not enough to get back to the pre-Walker status quo. Even before the Fitzgerald brothers were household names, our schools, working families, seniors and environment faced both challenges and opportunities. I will work tirelessly to fight back now and to lead us forward. I am excited, and more than ready, to put my skills and experiences on these important issues to work for my neighbors in the 48th Assembly District. I would be honored to earn your support.
